Description
Smooth, solid and round forged steel choker in a mild blue colour.
Materials and techniques
Mild steel round rod, tapered and bent round in the forge, then filed up in the maker's workshop, and taken through all the grades of emery paper to polishing paper. Hinged section (not to be opened) then made out of steel welding rod, hinge and peg cut and fitted. Final filing and and polishing to ensure 'flow', then polished with necklace is 'blued' in a propane flame, and boiled linseed oil rubbed in when still very hot.
