Description

Jug with a rectangular cream body decorated with black squares and orange diamond pattern, with the body unwrapping at the top in a strip which turns into the handle.

Materials and techniques

Slip-cast oxidised earthenware, glazed; the outside painted with layers of coloured slips with sgraffito decoration in places and stencilled with black squares, the inside decorated with underglaze colours sponged and airbrushed onto the surface. Biscuit fired at 1180 - 1200 deg. C; glaze fired at 1060 deg. C.
