Description

Sculpture of a reclining nude woman holding her right foot, and a young boy standing and holding onto her left knee.

Materials and techniques

Clay - soft slab built in a white St.Thomas body. Painted with white slip before bisque firing to 1120 deg. C. Then painted with oxides both under and over a lead based glaze. Glaze fired twice to 1050 deg. C to build up warmth of colour, with subsequent painting of oxides and glaze.
