Maker's statement

I think we achieved a satisfactory balance between simple and formal elements and an element of surprise or interest with stripes, speckled areas, and plain bands against the rows of stylised birds. We went through a phase in which we utilised stylised representational elements in our designs. At the moment we are making use of some of the incidental discoveries, such as triangles, and using them in abstract or geometrical designs in a slight move away from the representational.
